Temp: 27F, Sunny
I am for the most part, over my cold. My DH took my daughter and I to a Sunday breakfast this morning. It is a lovely, sunny day. The birds are very active, and as we drove through the barren wheat fields, the hawks and owls were on high alert, searching the ground for rodents.
I had a lovely plate of strawberry crepes for breakfast. I could only eat one of the three because they were so rich - but melt in your mouth perfect. We watched a fat squirrel scout the parking lot for leftovers, as we sat there enjoying a lazy breakfast.
We came home and I put together a crock pot of chili, then we watched the football playoffs. As we watched the games, I completed a few more lessons at Hummies World.
This first set was a lesson in learning how to blend two or more of your own papers to create a new set of papers. It is a technique that I enjoy very much.
The next lesson was on making stickers. Hummie teaches the student to place a gradient over the face of the stickers to make them look like a rippled piece of paper. I think my favorite is the crab. The color and the happy smile draws me to it.
The next lesson was on placing text in the background of your papers. I find that I prefer text that is faded, and grungy - almost erased in selected areas.
The latest lesson I completed was on making bottlecaps. I haven't used them in my own scrapping papers, but I can see how they can add a different flavor to the kit design.
The final upload for today was a lesson on making papers with your own photos. You use various filters to blend the photos into a pleasing paper. I used a photo of an Alaska Fireweed.
I hope that there is something here that you can use! As always I appreciate your comments and encouragement.
